Connect LinkedIn Ads
Connect LinkedIn Ads as a traffic channel, pick the ad accounts you want to track and tag your campaigns so LeadJourney attributes every lead.
Connecting LinkedIn Ads lets LeadJourney pull in your LinkedIn campaign data and attribute every lead back to the right campaign, audience and ad – so you can see exactly what your LinkedIn budget is bringing in.
Before you start
You'll need an active LeadJourney workspace and access to a LinkedIn Campaign Manager account with at least one ad account you can authorize. Make sure you're logged in to the right LinkedIn profile before you start the connection.
Where to find it
In LeadJourney, open Settings → Traffic Channels and choose Connect LinkedIn Ads. The “Connect LinkedIn Ads” dialog opens and walks you through three steps: connect your account, choose your ad accounts, and add the tracking parameters.
Step by step
Connect your LinkedIn account via OAuth
Under Step 1, click Connect LinkedIn Account. You'll be taken to LinkedIn – allow LeadJourney access to your profile so it can read your ad accounts and campaign data.
When you return, the button changes to “Successfully connected”, and you'll also see Refresh Token and Logout options for later.
Connect your ad account(s)
Under Step 2 – Connect Ad Account/s, the ad accounts linked to your LinkedIn profile appear in a table showing each account's status, ad account ID, name, currency and the date it was added.
Click Connect on every ad account you want LeadJourney to track. You can disconnect an account again at any time – when you do, LeadJourney asks whether to keep or delete the data it has already collected for that account.
Add LeadJourney's tracking parameters to your campaigns
Under Step 3 – Add Tracking Parameter, click Copy Parameters to copy LeadJourney's URL parameters, then paste them into the URL tracking parameters of your LinkedIn Ads campaigns (in LinkedIn Campaign Manager):
lj_channel=linkedin_ads&lj_c_id={{campaign.id}}&lj_as_id={{adset.id}}&lj_ad_id={{ad.id}}&lj_placement={{placement}}The {{campaign.id}}, {{adset.id}}, {{ad.id}} and {{placement}} placeholders identify
the campaign, ad set, ad and placement behind each click, so LeadJourney can attribute every
lead to the exact source. Paste the string exactly as shown.
Click Complete connection to finish.
Complete connection stays disabled until you've connected your LinkedIn account and switched on at least one ad account.
Keeping the connection healthy
- Data stopped updating? Open the channel again and click Refresh Token.
- Disconnect LinkedIn anytime with Logout in Step 1.
Troubleshooting
No LinkedIn data showing up?
Check that (1) at least one ad account is connected in Step 2, (2) your LinkedIn login is still authorized (use Refresh Token if not), and (3) the tracking parameters are actually set on your live LinkedIn campaigns.
